On Monday the 28th of May, 2018, the North West Secondary School in Mabaruma, Region (1) One hosted and introduction to Archery in School. Two of the Region’s recently certified Level One Coaches, Mr. Ainsworth Pritchard and Mr. Carl Albert conducted the introduction session at the School.
Speaking about the importance of archery in school as one of the newest events that will be taking place this year to encourage involving young students in sports in the school system was Head Mistress of the School Ms. Roeady Martinez-Pritchard. She was also was very interested in this new sport and couldn’t wait to have a feel what it is like to be an archer. She stated, “The Regional Education Officer Mr. Nigel Richards and the District Education Officer Mr. Marti DeSouza were both part of this introductory session and they were so happy that this discipline will soon come into the school system and we know many of the students are very anxious to learn about archery. It was a great experience.”
Archery Coaches Sir. Albert and Sir. Pritchard will be meeting and working with the other Top Level Primary Schools across Region One.
