On Wednesday 4th May, 2016, at the National Cultural Centre, the Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation received a National Sports Award for the 'Most Improved Foundation/Association".
The Grammy style Awards Ceremony was hosted by the National Sports Commission with the Winners of the various categories being revealed the same evening.
Junior Minister of Education, Department of Culture, Youth & Sport, Ms. Nicolette Henry and Director of Sport, Mr. Christopher Jones, congratulated the G.S.S.F. and wished the Foundation continued success. These sentiments were shared by other sport personalities present that evening.
President of the Foundation, Ms. Vidushi Persaud, received the Award on behalf of the GSSF and extended to the members her warm congratulations and went on to say to all the members: "Many thanks to each and every one of you for the unwavering support, hard work and Team-work to raise the level of sport shooting in Guyana. Let us continue to make 2016 an even more awesome and memorable year!"
