Like the multi-tiered series of cascades of the Orinduik Falls, Orinduik Development Inc. has been keeping a steady flow in supporting the respective shooting disciplines of the GSSF. This 4th year in a row is no different as the company once again will be sponsoring an upcomong Practical Shooting Match hosted by the Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation.
The match is slated to bring out handgun Practical Shooters after a long time to the range. There their knowledge of firearm safety will be foremost while competitor’s skills of marksmanship and handgun reliability will be put to the test in the fast-paced run and gun shooting that the sport of practical shooting is know for.
Orinduik Development Inc. is the 100% Guyanese owned company, has recently handed over the sponsorship money at one of Guyana’s brand-new training facility servicing the Oil and Gas sector. GSSF representatives were given a tour of ODITC spanking new training centre by General Manager Mr. Alan Sharp in the presence of Mr. Brian Backer of the developer Orinduik Development Inc.
During the tour at the East Coast Demerara complex, Mr. Sharp outlined ODITC’s various training services being offered in Guyana. The likes of which included, Helicopter Underwater Evacuation Training (HUET), life-boat operations, multi-level lifting and rigging, working at height, Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI), confined space operations and other various types of training that is mandatory for persons working in the booming oil and gas sector. All of which are offered on the shores of Guyana in keeping with the building of capacity for local content. GSSF reps also were impressed with the fact that 80 plus persons were already trained in the facility in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and it’s GOAL platform.
Like the shooting sports, focus on safety is paramount, as in the oil and gas sector, GSSF’s board and members commend the high level of safety standards that Orinduik Development Inc., ODITC and all their partners are brining to Guyana.
Orinduik Development Inc. is also building in Guyana a commercial Heliport on the Lusignan complex. The primary objective of the proposed heliport is to provide an independent facility for helicopter operations in close proximity to Georgetown, and to facilitate the growing need for such air transport services coming from many sectors, including the extractive industry.
The heliport is slated to provide a location for the voluntary basing of helicopter operators providing commercial services (moving people and cargo, mining, tourism, oil industry, construction, agriculture, news and media) from and near Georgetown and is also intended to support the medical, coast guard, security, search and rescue, law enforcement and other emergency services
At the recent simple handover ceremony at the Lusignan Heliport, President of the Foundation, Mr. Ryan McKinnon extended GSSF’s sincerest gratitude to Mr. Brian Backer and the Board of Directors of Orinduik Development Inc for the kind sponsorship, their continued support to the GSSF.
