Pursuant to the recent collaboration between the two regional entities, both of which are duly affiliated to the international governing body, World Archery Foundation and World Archery Americas, World Archery Barbados made the necessary arrangements to provide Archery Guyana with the assistance of four (4) coaches, intended to aid in the further development of local Archers.

Mr Ronald Field, Mr. Thomas Field, Ms. Rebecca Wiltshire and Mr. Dwayne Grovesnor arrived this afternoon to conduct coaching/training sessions with Archery Guyana this weekend.

On Monday, October 30, 2017, Directors of the Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation (G.S.S.F.) paid a courtesy call to Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Mr. Clifton Hicken at his Eve Leary office. Present at the meeting were Mr. Hicken - Assistant Commissioner, Officer-in-Charge of the Tactical Services Unit (T.S.U.) Deputy Superintendent Mr. Guy Nurse and GSSF Directors Dr. Pravesh Harry and Mr. Trevor Bassoo.

G.S.S.F., since its incorporation in 2014, has shared a cordial relationship with the Guyana Police Force and more specifically the Tactical Services Unit. The donation of sports equipment in the form of basketballs and footballs, is merely a gesture of the G.S.S.F.’s intent to continue lending support to the GPF.

On Wednesday 25^th October, 2017, Directors of the Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton at the Ministry’s headquarters on Main Street.

During the visit the President of the G.S.S.F., Mrs. Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, Secretary Mr. Steve Ninvalle, Director Mr. Nicholas Hing and Asst. Secretary/Treasurer Mr. Ryan McKinnon discussed with the Honourable Minister Norton their plans for the future and gave an update as to the various shooting disciplines thus far.
