Steel Challenge

For the fourth consecutive year, Halloween in Guyana for sport shooters has been associated with the much anticipated B.M. Soat Annual Costume Match. The Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation once again last Saturday 2^nd November, 2019 hosted their Annual themed competition which was a very keenly contested one, sponsored by B.M. Soat Auto sales all within the confines of the safety rules and watchful eyes of Range Master, Mr. Dallas Thomas and his Team of Range Officials.

The Timehri Range transformed just after noon with cool overcast weather, with the rain clouds hovering but not breaking over the Match thereby providing wonderful cloud coverage for the participants as members turned out in their costumes, with appearances from inter alia, a FBI Agent, A Policeman, a Policewoman, terminator, Unstrung Hero, a Cricketer, a Vacquero and a QC Old Student.

For the fourth consecutive year, BM Soat Auto Sales supported the Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation in their Annual Costume Shooting Match. This themed competition has once again been exclusively sponsored by B.M Soat Auto Sales and is expected to be an exciting one yet again. Over the years, members turned out in their costumes, with appearances from Pocahontas, The Joker, Superman, Cowboys, Hondo, Magic Mike, Contractors and construction workers, Arrow, Super Girl, a Farmer, Racer, a Cricketer, a Biker, the Black Panther, Lara Croft, the Gold Tooth Gangster, a Rifle Shooter and even Count Dracula risked the afternoon sun last year to come out and participate, all doing so within the safety confines of the sport. This year the match is bound to be even more exciting with invited participants expected to once again take part donning costumes of their liking, hats, wigs, paint, garb but will have to be within the safety confines of the sport.

The Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation celebrated its 5^th anniversary by successfully hosting the annual El Dorado Trading Cup, a very special Steel Challenge event sponsored by El Dorado Trading Inc., the Licensed Gold Dealers of Lot 136 Young Street, Kingston, Georgetown who continued to give their unfaltering support to the G.S.S.F.

The prestigious El Dorado Trading Cup is a Challenge Trophy which has been on the prize table at an Annual match since 2015 to commemorate the Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation’s anniversary. After every match the winner’s name together with the year is inscribed on a plaque attached to the Cup.
