Board Of Directors 2020-2022

The Annual General Meeting of the G.S.S.F. on Friday 28th February, 2020 at the Grand Coastal Inn, Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara.

Following the transparent electoral process, the members listed below were duly elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation for the term 2020 to 2022 as announced and ratified by the Returning Officer, Capt. Bhudu:

Mr. Ryan McKinnon

   

Mr. McKinnon is an avid outdoorsman and patriot who has a passion for promoting Guyana. He proudly speaks of the vast untouched biodiversity that the country possesses which stems from his experiences travelling to the depths of every administrative region. Growing up in central Georgetown in a single parent home he developed a respect for team work and many strong principles that today aid him in successfully managing his life and business career.

Mr. Ryan McKinnon is an active competitive shooter since 2006 (via Guyana N.R.A.) and has amassed a wealth of experience and prize winnings in the field of sport shooting both locally and internationally to date.  He has won several local handgun shooting competitions and is currently the defending champion for the all the major sponsored local handgun tournaments, inclusive of those involving law enforcement agencies. He is especially proud to expand on the comradery that sport shooting typically generates amongst competitors who usually hails from all walks of life and all regions of the world.  As such Mr. McKinnon strives to combine his logic, efficiency, tact and proficiency gained from his travels and experiences in order to continue promoting Guyana and regulated shooting sports.

He is certified by the IROA as a Level II Chief Range Officer, member and former hand-gun captain of the Guyana NRA, member of the United States Practical Shooting Association and the Steel Challenge Shooting Association.

 
     
David Dharry    

David Dharry is the Practical Shooting Chairman of the GSSF and brings to the Federation years of experience in his field as an active competitive shooter locally and regionally. He is also a member of the Guyana NRA.

 
     
Mrs. Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon    

Mrs. Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon is an Attorney-at-Law in private practice. Since she was called to the Guyana Bar in 2001, she joined her Family’s Law Firm of Persaud & Associates, Georgetown. She currently serves as the Acting Chair of the National Commission on Disability, Member of the Guyana NRA, Member of the United States Practical Shooting Association and the Steel Challenge Shooting Association. She also represents the Guyana Bar Association on the Guyana-Cuba Trade Facilitation Council and continues her voluntary work serving as one of the Vice-Presidents of the Queen’s College Old Students’ Association.

Vidushi enjoys the various sport shooting disciplines and has been shooting competitively since 2012. She laments the fact that sport shooting is stereotyped as something male oriented and her hope is to change the perception of the Guyanese public to understand a woman competitive shooter. In this regard, she created history in 2015 by emerging the Overall Year-end winner in Standard Division in I.P.S.C. Guyana's Match as the first female to accomplish this honour.

 
     
Ray Beharry    

Ray Beharry was appointed Treasurer from September 2016. He is the Founder, Chairman and C.E.O of Trinity Resources Inc. After spending nearly a decade working as the Finance Manager for a group of Gold Mining entities he ventured on his own with a dream to be amongst Guyana's top producers. Over the last decade and counting Ray serves as a member on the Roman Catholic Finance Council. He also served as Treasurer of the Guyana National Rifle Association for two years. He lectured Quickbooks accounting part-time at Global Technology for a few years. Ray is currently 28 years old and believes success is dependent on the way we live our lives. He is Catholic and proud to profess his faith.

 
     
Andrew Phang    

Mr. Andrew Phang is the Manager of International Technical Supplies (Guyana) Limited (supplier of welding equipment and accessories since 1994). In 1996 he married Anna Lisa Fraser and they have four children. Besides being an active motor racing enthusiast, he enjoys motorcycling, sport fishing and outdoor life. The Foundation is now benefitting from his years experience in sport shooting.

 
     
Dallas Thomas Jr.    

Dallas Thomas Jr. is the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Operations and Training of Praetorian Executive Protection Services Inc. located in Georgetown Guyana, South America. Dallas retired from the United States Army after serving over twenty years of dedicated service. He is a combat veteran who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan as well as numerous other locations around the world. Dallas is trained as an Executive Protection Specialist and Secure Driver.

Dallas is a current member of the Guyana Sport Shooting Foundation and various organisations in the U.S. and internationally (USPSA, US NRA, USCCA, ASIS International, and the International Security Driver Association (ISDA)). Dallas has a degree in Healthcare Management from The University of West Florida and is currently a Dual Masters Candidate at Colorado State University.

 
     
Imam Baksh    

Imam Baksh is a teacher and novelist from the Essequibo Coast. He is a novice shooter who enjoys designing courses of fire.

 
     
Dr. Pravesh Harry BDS    

Dr. Pravesh Harry BDS is a Dental Surgeon by profession. He is employed at Dr. Sengupta & Associates’ private Dental office in Queenstown. Dr. Harry is meticulous and passionate about his work. He has a strong sense of civic pride as demonstrated by voluntary community service and activities he chooses to provide his fellow Guyanese in Dental Outreach programs. As a firearms enthusiast for many years he brings the same professionalism and enthusiasm to the Guyana Sport Shooting Federation where he is a director and founding member. Dr. Harry is a member of the United States Practical Shooting Association and the Steel Challenge Shooting Association.

 
     
Gary Sahai    

Captain Gary Sahai is colloquially known as "a Bush Pilot" in the jungle of Guyana. He is also an Agricultural Pilot. Captain Sahai is an extremely experienced pilot, active in the profession for the past 22 years. He is an avid outdoors man. Capt. Sahai is known for being a conservatonist who believes in target shooting and not hunting unless you are starving. Hence the continued success of the Foundation is important to promote his ideology.
